At school we teach children about online safety through our Computing and PSHE curriculum, annual Safer Internet Day and, in upper key stage 2, through Project 10 and Junior Citizen. For parents and carers knowing how to keep your children safe online is crucial as the internet offers exciting and useful opportunities but also brings risks. At this age, children are curious and may encounter inappropriate content, cyberbullying, or online predators. By educating them about responsible internet use, setting boundaries, and monitoring their activities, parents and carers can help ensure their children explore the digital world safely. Encouraging open communication about online experiences fosters trust and helps children make safer choices online.
