As a Church of England school, we hold an inclusive and diverse daily act of Collective Worship.
We use several resources to support the planning and delivery of these 15-minute gatherings.
12 Christian values are explored in a 2 year programme of fully worked, creative material: Compassion, Courage, Forgiveness, Friendship, Generosity, Justice, Perseverance, Respect, Service, Thankfulness. Trust, Truthfulness.
Picture News finds the positives in current affairs by turning world events into learning opportunities. The assembly element explains the story, and includes additional open questions for meaningful discussion.
This provides an opportunity to reflect on the Picture News Big Questions in an age-appropriate way or sometimes explore something relevant to the class.
Once a week, the Reverend from the local church leads Collective Worship or a member of SLT will share a Heroes of Hope story (inspiring stories from Christians around the world)
These are linked to the PSHE theme for the half-term.
Friday Collective Worship promotes recognition of achievements (both in and out of school)and the celebration of birthdays.
These are part of a regular pattern of Collective Worship and allow us to focus on how our values are woven through all aspects of our school life.
