Year 3 – Hedgehog Class

Teaching Assistant Y3 & Y4

Welcome to Hedgehog Class!

We work hard but have lots of fun! We know that we often have to use our school values of perseverance, friendship and respect to make progress with our learning and to create a happy learning environment. We enjoy a challenge and we celebrate our learning journeys and the journeys of others. Only our best is good enough!

We look forward to developing our fluency, reasoning and problem solving in maths. In our writing we aim to improve our grammar, punctuation and spelling. We can choose our books independently and show our love of reading by recommending books to each other and being enthusiastic in our guided reading sessions. Practical science lessons are our favourite so we can improve our ‘working scientifically’ skills.

Our door is always open so please feel free to come in if you have any questions or queries. We are always happy to show off some of our fabulous work.

Topic webs – About our learning each term

Our fourth RE Focus Day had us thinking about ‘What is ‘good’ about Good Friday?’ We looked at the Christian belief of the incarnation of Christ being a saviour.

The Roman Workshop was fantastic; we will be using what we learned and our own research to write our own Roman class book.

We had a fabulous RE Days in Terms 2 and 3. Our ‘big question’ was ‘Has Christmas Lost its True Meaning?’ and ‘Could Jesus heal people? Or is there another explanation?’ The discussions were extremely interesting and incredibly thoughtful.

If you could give the world one gift at Christmas, to make it a better place, what would it be? Take a look at some of the children’s responses…hankies at the ready!
