Year 3 – Hedgehog Class

Welcome to Hedgehog Class!

We work hard but have lots of fun! We know that we often have to use our school values of perseverance, friendship and respect to make progress with our learning and to create a happy learning environment. We enjoy a challenge and we celebrate our learning journeys and the journeys of others. Only our best is good enough!

We look forward to developing our fluency, reasoning and problem solving in maths. In our writing we aim to improve our grammar, punctuation and spelling. We can choose our books independently and show our love of reading by recommending books to each other and being enthusiastic in our guided reading sessions. Practical science lessons are our favourite so we can improve our ‘working scientifically’ skills.

Our door is always open so please feel free to come in if you have any questions or queries. We are always happy to show off some of our fabulous work.

Topic webs – About our learning each term

We are looking forward to our Roman Workshop on Monday; we have already generated 15 questions to answer throughout our topic!

We had a fabulous RE Day in Term 2. Our ‘big question’ was ‘Has Christmas Lost its True Meaning?’ The discussions were extremely interesting and incredibly thoughtful; by the end of the day the class responded to the last question:

If you could give the world one gift at Christmas, to make it a better place, what would it be? Take a look at some of the children’s responses…hankies at the ready!
